Fortiva Archiving & Compliance Suite™ Brings More Control, Flexibility and Value to the Financial Services Industry

Includes more sophisticated supervision and search functionality, additional reports, support for daily restricted list updates and IM capture and archiving

June 21, 2005 – New York – SIA Technology Management Conference & Exhibit - Fortiva Inc. today announced a series of product enhancements to the Fortiva Archiving & Compliance Suite™ designed to give companies more control and reduce exposure to risk while helping to more easily meet regulatory compliance requirements. The latest version of Fortiva's archiving solution features support for Instant Messaging (IM), sophisticated supervision tools, improved integration with Microsoft® Active Directory®, support for daily restricted list updates, and new reports specifically tailored to meet the needs of the financial services industry.

The Fortiva Archiving & Compliance Suite is the first managed email archiving solution to offer the control, data security, and product integration of an in-house solution. Fortiva's unique hybrid model incorporates an appliance at the customer site, and applies proprietary DoubleBlind Encryption™ technology to ensure data is never comprised. Integrating with Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory, the Suite provides businesses with complete data privacy in an easy-to-implement, easy-to-use application with real-time search and discovery, supervision and enforcement features.

New features in the Archiving & Compliance Suite include:

• Sophisticated supervision tools that allow users to sample a percentage of each user's mail or a percentage of messages that match specific criteria, rather than just a percentage sample of all mail (the method offered by many competing products). Rules can also be configured to allow supervision based on a job function or department. This targeted supervision allows businesses to dramatically reduce the time spent reviewing mail, focus their resources and more aggressively monitor individuals that pose a higher risk to the organization.
• Enhanced reporting capabilities through Fortiva's broker-dealer reports. These reports provide valuable insight into compliance with key regulations and allow companies to quickly and easily illustrate adherence to industry regulations in the case of a review. Reports also provide insight into the source and nature of potential problems, so businesses can more effectively adjust their training plans.
• Archiving of instant messages (IM) is now possible through the use of third-party instant message proxy server software from IMLogic and FaceTime Communications. Search functionality that applies to email also works with IM, such as "people-aware searches" where users can easily search for an individual that may have multiple email addresses or IM aliases with one query.
• Restricted list updates can be easily managed on a daily basis from a simple browser interface using Fortiva's Infotags, without making changes to the policy.
• Ability to import members of an Active Directory group into a role or department (instead of having to type in the members individually), making it easier to take a snapshot of a group for use in policies and search.
