Sales Engineer
This is a senior sales engineer position based in Fortiva's Toronto, Ontario office. The Sales Engineer is responsible for both pre-sales technical sales support as well as post-sale implementation including needs evaluation, setup, and training. The candidate should be particularly skilled at product demonstration and client management.
Responsibilities
- Provide prospects and sales team with technical product advice and demo support during pre-sales discussions
- Prepare and perform detailed product demonstrations for prospects
- Support sales with RFP/RFI process and documentation
- Provide implementation support and post-sales consulting for clients
- Provide end-user training to customers
Job Requirements
- Working knowledge of W2K server / networking environments and Microsoft Exchange/Active Directory
- Ability to manage risks, priorities, and expectations in a fast paced environment
- Superior technical and business problem solving skills and judgment
- Domain experience in software development (Microsoft preferred), managed application hosting, systems, knowledge, and database management, and/or operations

Responsibilities
- Delivering a software solution for the Fortiva managed backend infrastructure, that can scale to support petabytes of archived data in storage, and at the same time provide customers with instant search access to the archive's content.
- Providing appliance based software that customers deploy within their own infrastructure to extract and prepare content for submission to the Fortiva managed archive.
- Delivering a web-based UI that customers use to access the archive, providing the richness of a desktop application, all the while being hosted in browser.

Intermediate Windows UI Developer
Fortiva is a VC funded and quickly growing start-up company based in Toronto. We sell "Software as a Service" (SaaS), and employ cutting-edge technologies. Our products take the headache and risks out of email archival.
Fortiva’s application is heavily dependent on an advanced Web based user interface that exposes our services to our customers. In addition we use many Windows based application to extend the main product. The current requirement for this position is to participate in the development team responsible for building, enhancing, and maintaining the User Interface components of the system with a focus on the Windows based components.
Reporting to the System Development Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:
Duties & Responsibilities
- Create, enhance, and maintain various Windows based utilities that support and extend Fortiva’s Web based application;
- Create and maintain the automated installers using Installshield;
- Correct Web UI defects;
- Develop new Web UI pages to support new application features;
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience (2+ years) in using ASP.NET
- Demonstrated experience in building Windows Forms
- emonstrated experience in implementing well structured, client oriented user interfaces;
- Proficient in current Microsoft development tools (Visual Studio Version 2003 or greater);
- Languages required: C#
- Languages desired: JavaScript; C++; Win32 API
- Experience with Install Shield scripts would be an asset

Sr. QA Engineer
The successful candidate will define and execute test cases in a complex client server network environment. The role will also include configuring networking and hardware environments as a platform upon which tests will be run.
Requirements:
- You have a deep understanding of networking and Linux technologies
- You have deep knowledge of Linux, networking, scripting and relational databases
- You understand why client server applications don’t always work – and how to break them
- You can explain testing options and defend a position on your strategy
- Experience in defining and executing test cases
- 4+ years of experience in QA, network administration or development

Scope of Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the creation, documentation, measurement and ongoing improvement of Operations and Service Center ITIL oriented processes
- Documentation and measurement of Service Level Objectives/Agreements
- Responsible for the creation and management of Technical documentation (Knowledge Management)
- Responsible for the creation and maintenance of customer oriented Knowledge Base
- Updating of documentation/process/procedure through Incident Management, Problem Determination and Release Management processes
- Work closely with Operations and Service Center Managers to continuously improve and optimize processes and procedures

Service Desk Analyst
We are looking for a Service Desk Analyst to be the face of Fortiva support to our internal and external customers. The successful candidate will provide clients with prompt and efficient first line technical/customer support in a professional manner.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Provide customers with a single point of contact for Fortiva support through phone, email and fax
- Recording and tracking of outages and requests using Fortiva's ticketing system
- Initial assessment, attempts to resolve, and escalation of customer or monitoring-initiated incidents
- Initiating escalation procedures to ensure Service Level Agreements are met
- Managing customer request life cycle, including closure
- Managing creation and deployment of customer communications
- Providing recommendations for service improvement through observation and customer feedback
- Highlighting customer training and education needs
- Contributing to identification of recurring outages or requests
- Mentoring and development of junior new Service Desk hires
- Ongoing documentation of processes
- Monitoring of corporate and production infrastructure using Fortiva's monitoring systems
